Milk Wood Spa - Laugharne
Client - Luxury Lodges - Seasons Holidays
Completed - 2018-2020
Contractor - W.B. Griffiths
Context
This project which has recently been completed will provide exemplary facilities and world-class views over the Taf estuary and Gower Peninsula. The area is famous for its long stretches of unspoilt golden sands, with some of the best family-friendly beaches, coastal paths and birdwatching in Britain. It’s little wonder that Carmarthenshire has inspired so many artists, poets and writers, including Dylan Thomas, who lived in the ancient estuary township of Laugharne nearby.
The design inspiration was both the immediate and distant setting on the edge of the River Taf estuary. The site stretches along the contours of a steep cliff edge with spectacular views out to the river and landscape beyond.
